WeDat-Kit UI Library
We developed a brand-new UI Kit to replace the legacy component system, solving accessibility issues and modernizing frontend architecture by leveraging unstyled PrimeReact and modular CSS.

01 The Challenge
WeDat's existing component library was built on a heavily customized, opinionated UI framework that made theming painful, accessibility non-existent, and onboarding new developers slow. The library had accrued years of technical debt with inconsistent APIs and no documentation.
02 Our Solution
We rebuilt the entire UI kit from scratch using unstyled PrimeReact as the accessibility and behavior foundation, adding a modular CSS layer for theming. Every component was documented with Storybook, had full keyboard navigation, met WCAG 2.1 AA, and shipped with TypeScript types and migration guides.
03 Tech Stack
04 Results
The new library cut onboarding time for new frontend engineers from 2 weeks to 3 days. Accessibility audit score improved from 42 to 97. Component re-use across the platform increased from 30% to 85%.
